COMFORT vs STYLE?

I know what you're thinking. This is a never ending battle. Why would I even touch this subject? Well, I'm here writing this for two reasons. One of them being that I've noticed a complete shift in my style and the shoes that I'm now attracted too. The other one being, brands need to do better!

Let's get right into it. Ya'll know I'm a Nike Penny's type of girl. Foamposites used to be my shit. As a girl, I was wearing Foamposites before it was cool for girls to wear Foamposites. Before the kid sizes ruined the shape and integrity of the shoe.

A couple years ago, you couldn't tell me a single thing that would change my mind about the comfort of a Foamposite, much less about any other basketball shoe for that matter.

See, what I realize now is that while I've always been heavy into the sneaker culture and actively purchasing sneakers - I was actually an occasional sneaker wearer. I was only wearing these kicks on the weekend's since my job at the time didn't allow it.

Now that my job is to sell sneakers, I've got to wear my sneakers every day. At first, I thought this was the biggest perk of the job. You mean, I get to look at sneakers, talk sneakers & wear sneakers all day? After the first couple hectic 8-hour shifts standing and running around, all of that changed. Then it was a constant search for the next comfortable sneaker that makes me stylish while still not making my feet fall off by the end of the day.

Let's keep it all the way funky. Foamposite's are heavy, and Jordan's are unforgiving when it comes to comfort. I've always been heavy into Air Max so that became a huge go to for me. I went crazy with the Huarache's for a while. Then I was obessed with the comfort from the Reebok Insta Pump Fury's. Now I'm kind of all over the place, wearing Vapormax, Sock Darts, Prestos and anything else that is light and cozy.

While I would love nothing more than to be fly & wear Jordan 1's every day, it is just simply not realistic. This is my confession. I'm old now. I'm choosing comfort before style.
